Clara director Jordan Peele shows love for John Carpenter in social media discussion

But not so fast with that kind of praise, at least not on Peele’s watch. The director responded with appreciation for sentiment, but also with love for another master of horror, John Carpenter.

In response to the post, Bell initially wrote “Sir, please put the phone down, I beg of you,” before making it clear that he liked Ellis’ enthusiasm, but that he “would not tolerate any slander of John Carpenter!!” Ellis also shared an edited version of the popular meme that is honestly too good to see for yourself. Regardless of Carpenter’s work being appreciated, Peele deserves credit for directing horror genre films that have received a great deal of critical acclaim as well as being well received by audiences.
